The association Wir sind Hückeswagen e.V. has been organizing the festival voluntarily for several years — supported by a network of local business people, associations, and private individuals who want to make their town shine during Advent.

Regional Crafts and Bergisches Cuisine

The concept of the Hüttenzauber focuses on quality rather than quantity. Here you won't find mass-produced goods from wholesalers, but handmade gifts from the Bergisches Land: ceramics, woodwork, knitwear, honey, slate souvenirs, and natural cosmetics. The catering is managed by Hückeswagen associations, restaurants, and private individuals — from classic bratwurst and Bergisches potato pancakes to vegetarian specialties. Mulled wine, punch, hot apple juice, and of course coffee and cake ensure you stay warm even in winter temperatures.

Family Program and Live Music

During the day, families are the main focus: a visit from St. Nicholas, small craft activities, a nativity scene, and sometimes a carousel for the little ones are always part of the program. In the evening, it becomes musical — brass ensembles, choirs, and acoustic bands provide atmospheric performances against the backdrop of the slate facades. The market closes early enough for families with children to get home relaxed, but late enough for adults to enjoy a mulled wine in peace.
